Buick has 2,000 reasons to celebrate after his judgement proves spot on
THE brave choice proved the right choice as William Buick drove Ruling Court to victory in the Betfred 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket.
But the Rowley Mile Classic proved an agonising watch for supporters of 15-8 favourite Field Of Gold, who stormed home under Kieran Shoemark but found the winning post arriving two strides too soon.
Buick had rejected Shadow Of Light, the champion two-year-old of 2024, to partner stablemate Ruling Court, six-length winner of the Jumeirah 2,000 Guineas at Meydan in March.
