America key to Amorim's vision for his rebuild

RUBEN AMORIM has vowed to use Manchester United's tour of the United States to begin rebuilding Old Trafford's battered spirit.

United began their preseason with a dour goalless draw against Leeds in Stockholm and will now travel across the Atlantic to step up their preparations.

Amorim has banished Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia from his squad after deciding he could not have any negative influences around the team.

And he said: "We need to build that bond between everybody.

"There's a lot to improve. The speed of our game, all the details. But we will get there."
