FIRM'S SHOCK AFTER EMPLOYEE HID DARK CHILD SEX OFFENCES
Sunday Mercury
|June 29, 2025
A MIDLAND firm has told of its shock after learning a long-standing employee had admitted possessing indecent images of children.
Jason Hill was given a suspended jail sentence after confessing he wanted to 'hunt down children and rape them' in disturbing online chats with fellow paedophiles.
During his court hearing in May, Hill’s defence barrister claimed his employers were 'aware of allegations and they remain supportive of Mr Hill.'
Ms Akhtar told Wolverhampton Crown Court that Hill was employed as a forklift driver and warehouse operative by a family friend, earning about £1,500 a month.
She said he was allowed to return to his full-time role following the sentencing hearing.
But after news of his crimes broke, the company said they had been left in the dark over the true nature of the charges he faced.
It has now insisted it was not told that Hill had been accused of sex offences and had it known, they would not have offered any support. It said it was only aware of a knife charge and provided a character reference for that.
