THUNDER WONDER battled home by a nose in a tight finish to the Edinburgh Cup at Musselburgh.

Already course winner of the Royal Mile Handicap on Easter Saturday, the 4/1 chance ridden by Joe Fanning just pipped Regalian on the nod.

The race came less than an hour after winning Charlie Johnston had seen Lazy Griff chase home Lambourn in the Derby and his father Mark said: “It's been quite an exciting few minutes!

“Thunder Wonder loves it here and he's actually never lost at the track. He can get a bit excited at the start but Joe gave him a great ride.”
