Robison to put cost of living and NHS first

SNP Finance Secretary Shona Robison has vowed to focus “resolutely” on the NHS and tackling the cost-of-living when she delivers Tuesday's Budget.

She said her tax and spending plans will be in “stark contrast" to Westminster policies she claims are “holding Scotland back”.

She will deliver the critical pre-election draft Budget to Holyrood on Tuesday.

While the minority SNP government usually needs to find support from other parties for its plans to be approved, Labour has already said it will not block it, meaning the proposals are guaranteed to be approved.

The Budget comes less than four months before May's election.

And Robison says she will deliver a financial plan that “focuses resolutely on the people of Scotland’s priorities".
