Kyle aims to make sure Killie's risk on new deal is rewarded
KYLE MAGENNIS is desperate to reward Kilmarnock for taking a “risk” by handing him a new deal.
The luckless midfielder endured yet another injury-hit campaign last term before heading into a summer of uncertainty with his contract up and Killie without a manager.
But new boss Stuart Kettlewell offered Magennis a one-year deal last week and he wasted no time accepting.
Yet the 26-year-old admits the club took a leap of faith, given his injury record.
Magennis, who played 26 games in his first two seasons at Rugby Park, said: “The club have put trust in me and given me another chance.
“From their point of view, it’s a risk for them but I absolutely want to be fit this year and pay them back.
“I didn't really know what was happening earlier in the summer. I'd either always been in contract - or had something lined up.
“That bit of uncertainty is difficult, especially when you've got a young kid.
