Justice secretary slammed for dodging responsibility after two-year-old Zara was put down despite 'great prognosis'

ANGELA Constance has been accused of shirking responsibility for a police dog euthanised by the force.

As revealed by the Sunday Mail, twoyear-old PD Zara was put down in December after being hit by a car.

Despite a "great prognosis", according to veterinary notes, the force claimed her quality of life would have left her suffering.

Police chiefs insisted the decision was not related to the £12,000 it would have cost for PD Zara's operation.
