Ten of the TV show's most memorable contestants

- BY DAN VEVERS

BIG Brother is watching you, George Orwell famously warned.

But it seems we have all been watching Big Brother.

The popular show is back on screens again tonight and marking its 25th anniversary.

Since its launch, the reality show and its celebrity spin-off have given us shocks, laughs and a handful of unforgettable television moments.

Here are 10 memorable contestants who have made a big impression in the famous house.

ALISON HAMMOND 2002

Energetic and entertaining, Alison became one of the most iconic housemates from the show despite being the second person evicted on day 15. Her bubbly personality paved the way for a career as a TV host, including the Great British Bake Off and This Morning. House highlight: Jumping on a garden table and breaking it.

BRIAN DOWLING 2001

The winner of the second series with almost 60 per cent of the vote. A former flight attendant from County Kildare, in Ireland, he came out as gay to his parents two weeks before appearing on the show. His wit and easy manner won over viewers and he has since gone on to be a successful radio and TV career. House highlight: Shaving his head after surviving an eviction nomination.
