Helpline chaos over cash cuts

THOUSANDS of terrified disabled people have inundated helplines desperately seeking advice on proposed cuts to benefits.

It comes after the UK Government announced sweeping changes aimed at saving £5billion a year by 2030 and creating a more "pro-work system".

The cuts are likely to be confirmed in Chancellor Rachel Reeves Spring Statement on Wednesday.

Sources have told the Sunday Mail both the Social Security Scotland department and support agency Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) have seen a sharp upturn in calls from claimants terrified of the cuts.
