GLENGOULY sprang a shock for Faye Bramley in the December Gold Cup at Cheltenham.
The gelding was a 33/1 shot for the big handicap chase but was given a confident ride from the front by Sean Bowen.
The duo built up a commanding lead and kept up their advantage on the close-knit pack with several huge leaps.
The nine-year-old was challenged by recent Paddy Power second Vincenzo (7/2) two out but saw him off with a better jump at the last.
