Fraser feared he'd retire by 28 but he is still kicking now
Sunday Mail
|May 04, 2025
FRASER FYVIE didn't think he'd see out his 20s kicking a ball about on a Saturday while his wife is bewildered as to why he's still doing so.
But he reckons a refusal to let his body retire him comes with a responsibility to ensure the next generation know just lucky they are to have the “best career in the world”.
Now 32, perhaps it’s fitting then he's carving out a career in health and safety, given he’s got a knack of negotiating hazards thrown in his way.
An FA Cup and Scottish Cup winner, who burst through at Aberdeen at 16 and skippered Dundee United, Fyvie could have bowed out long ago with a CV not many would compete with.
But, having signed an initial deal at Cove Rangers for a matter of mere months, almost six years on he is fighting for club and personal honours.
