GORDON PARKS AT STARK'S PARK
-
SIMO VALAKARI insists he won't even look at the state of the table after playing down Saints’ flying start.
St Johnstone surged three points clear at the top of the Championship as they kept up their unbeaten start against challengers Raith Rovers.
Goals from Adama Sidibeh and Josh McPake had Valakari purring - and he is adamant entertainment will always come before bold title predictions.
The Perth gaffer said: “This is not a statement result — it’s too early in the season to say that.
“Twon'teven be lookingat the table as it's only five games into the season.
“That's nothing - there are so many games to play and so many points to play for.
“We want to enjoy ourselves, enjoy the challenge of playing at places like Raith and show what we can do.
“The only way we can be successful is if everyone is in harmony so it’s our job to entertain the fans.
“But it's a good result and a good performance.
“This is a difficult place to come and win against a good team but we controlled most of the game.
“Twas pleased with two very good transition goals and we showed how we can attack”
