YOANE WISSA may have only touched the ball 10 times after his cameo against Burnley but it was enough to raise the roof at St James' Park.

- BY LEE RYDER

For the £55million man it brought to an end 88 days of hurt after he suffered an injury just a few days into his switch from Brentford.

But as he started his quest to emulate the likes of Newcastle greats like Alan Shearer, Andy Cole and Les Ferdinand, the forward got the boost he needed from a Toon crowd delighted to see him finally on the pitch.

This game was won by a Bruno Guimaraes goal direct from a corner and Anthony Gordon's penalty, as Newcastle moved out of the bottom half.

Wissa looked emotional as he left the field at full-time but he will now hope that the goals will flow for the Magpies.

Struggling Burnley, despite being on a run of five defeats, made a gutsy start and came close with six minutes gone when Lyle Foster cashed in on a poor clearance and fired just wide.
