Strife brewing for pubs over takeaway pints

BRITAIN’S struggling pubs have suffered another “kick in the teeth” as the automatic right to sell takeaway pints is ending.

“Al fresco” reforms were introduced by the Tories during the pandemic to help with safe distancing and limit the spread of Covid.

But now they say the Labour Government has pulled the rug out from under pubs by allowing these “easements” to expire at the end of this month.

Under the measures, licence holders who had only been permitted to sell drinks on-site were allowed to sell alcohol for takeaway and delivery.
