Son 'ecstatic' as British couple released by Taliban return to UK

THE son of a British couple detained by the Taliban for nearly eight months says he is “overwhelmed” by their release.

Jonathan Reynolds was speaking as Peter Reynolds, 80, and his wife Barbie, 76, arrived at London Heathrow.

The couple have lived in Afghanistan for nearly two decades but were detained on their way home on February 1 and have never been given an explanation.
