Queen feared that Harry was too in love with Meghan
Sunday Express
|November 27, 2022
THE QUEEN feared Prince Harry was "perhaps a little too in love" with Meghan Markle but dismissed the couple's explosive Oprah interview as "television nonsense", a new book claims.
Broadcaster Gyles Brandreth has disclosed how Her Majesty was delighted with her grandson's choice of wife.
She had high hopes for Meghan's contribution to public life and warmly welcomed her into the Royal Family.
But if her kindness made Harry and Meghan's decision to turn their backs on the UK any more painful, she did not show it, says Mr Brandreth in his authoritative biography Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait. It also describes how the Sussexes' controversial interview with Oprah failed to ruffle the pragmatic Queen.
Her Majesty was instead said be to concerned about Harry's wellbeing and dismissed the Winfrey bombshell interview as "this television nonsense".
In his book, out on December 8, the 74-year-old author and actor reveals the Queen was "devoted" to Harry, who she thought as "huge fun".
