Now you can watch almost anything on one of the streaming giants, so if you want something jolly for Christmas afternoon then seek out and enjoy Ticket To Paradise, a meringue-weight rom-com starring two of the few remaining stars who embody old-school Hollywood – Julia Roberts and George Clooney.

It’s not merely that they are both so glamorous. It’s the sense that they don’t take themselves terribly seriously.

At last week’s Kennedy Center Honors Awards (where Clooney and Gladys – Empress of Soul – Knight were recipients) Julia Roberts wore a Moschino dress covered in pictures of her old mate and perennial co-star George Clooney.
