Gruffalo creator hails Queen as a 'reading champion

BESTSELLING author Julia Donaldson has praised the Queen for championing children’s reading.

The Gruffalo creator, who was the Children’s Laureate in 2011, also said Dame Judi Dench would be her dream narrator.

Julia, 77, said: “I was at Clarence House celebrating the 100th anniversary of the National Literacy Trust.

“I think Camilla’s great - she’s always been very keen on children, well not just children’s books but reading generally.”
