Ban imports of foie gras, MPs tell PM

FOIE gras imports should be banned under new Brexit freedoms, a group of MPs has told Rishi Sunak.

Production of the controversial ingredient, by force-feeding birds such as ducks or geese, is already illegal in the UK under the Animal Welfare Act.

However, it is still possible to import it and more than 180 tonnes arrive in the UK each year, from countries including France and Hungary.
