Councillor welcomes Crieff traffic calming plans
Strathearn Herald
|March 19, 2026
Strathearn Councillor Noah Khogali has welcomed new commitments from Transport Scotland to install further traffic calming measures at the entrance to Crieff from Gilmerton, near the golf club, following data showing that recent speed limit reductions have not fully achieved their targets.
-
Following a traffic speed review undertaken between 1 June 2025 and 8 March 2026, Transport Scotland recorded average speeds of up to 28mph in the 20mph zone and up to 33mph in the 30mph zone. In formal correspondence with Cllr Khogali regarding this specific zone, the national transport agency acknowledged that "recorded speeds are not as low as hoped for".
