Tackling the state of our crumbling hospital in Parliament

Few people would be surprised to see that the Liberal Democrats chose to prioritise two areas which have been central to our campaigning - sewage dumping and crumbling hospitals.

For me, the state of Stepping Hill Hospital was the first thing that I tackled when I arrived in Parliament, and it continues crowded corridors because there is nowhere else for them to go, and, in one case, a light fitting crashing out of the ceiling while a soon-to-be new mother was in active labour.

I have heard from so many people about how the conditions at Stepping Hill have affected them, and that was why it was so important to me to use their words when I had the opportunity to speak in Parliament as part of the hospitals debate.
