Shoplifter banned from 2,000 Co-op stores

A 'PROLIFIC' shoplifter has been banned from every Co-op store in England and Wales, police have revealed.

Anthony John Englishby, 46, was held after targeting two Co-op stores in Heald Green, Stockport, in March and April this year, GMP said.

He was jailed for six months, a prison sentence that was suspended, after appearing at Tameside Magistrates' Court, where he pleaded guilty to 10 counts of theft.

But as part of the sentence, Englishby was made the GMP subject of an exclusion order lasting until May 2027 that prevents him from entering more than 2,000 Co-op stores.
