Judge tells pervert 'you are only concerned for yourself'

JUDGE Elizabeth Nicholls told Christopher Oates that no sentence could repair the damage that has been done.

She said: "Predatory and manipulative are the words used to describe you in your presentence report.

"There is nothing I have read or heard that will persuade me otherwise. I wish to add egotistical to that. Even though you have been unable to admit the impact of your offending on others and are only concerned for yourself," she said.

Referencing the police investigation, she said he met the two girls in the early 00s when they were 'young, impressionable and vulnerable.'

At the time, one of the victims' mums wrote to social services: "She is 14. It is everyone's responsibility as adults to protect her. How do we give back her childhood?

"How do we replace innocence lost?"

The judge continued: "In her naivety she believed you were her boyfriend.
