Scenic restaurant to re-open after hiatus
Stirling Observer
|June 11, 2025
A restaurant on the banks of a scenic loch near Callander is to re-open its doors later this month after a four year hiatus.
The popular Venachar Restaurant, which sits on the north shoreline of Loch Venachar - off the A821 between Kilmahog and Brig o' Turk - has announced that the eatery will re-open on Monday, June 16.
The Venachar Lochside is a popular wedding destination, set on the tranquil loch which boasts plentiful shoals of brown trout, pike, salmon, sea trout and perch, and even has its own 'wild sauna' overlooking the loch.
The restaurant there has not opened since 2021 and will welcome its first diners back from next week.
A spokesperson for the restaurant said: "We're thrilled to share that after four years, Venachar Restaurant is reopening on Monday, June 16.
"It's a moment we've been building towards for a long time, and we can't wait to welcome both familiar faces and new guests back to the lochside.
