A Stirling University student is heading Stateside this summer as he lines up in a prestigious Ryder Cup style team tournament.

Ross Laird, 21, will be one of 12 golfers who will compete for an International squad against the United States for the Arnold Palmer Cup-held this year at the exclusive Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

The student, who is in the second year of a finance degree at the university, is the only member of the International squad to study outside of the United States.
