Seven camels saved from slaughter, safely rehabilitated to Natural Habitat

In a significant act of animal rescue, seven camels that were on the brink of being slaughtered in Sopore, Baramulla were rescued and rehabilitated to their natural habitat.

The rescue took place following a complaint lodged by SAVE Society and PETA India with the district administration of Baramulla.
The complaint was supported with detailed documentation, including legal provisions and government orders that were allegedly violated.
These camels had reportedly been smuggled into Jammu & Kashmir from Rajasthan, in direct contravention of several laws, including the Rajasthan Camel (Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export) Act, 2015 and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
