Assesses roadmap for transforming it into diversified tourist destinations

- STATE TIMES NEWS

Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo on Saturday chaired a meeting to review the works and initiatives undertaken by the Tourism Department for promoting and strengthening tourism across the Jammu region.

STATE TIMES in its edition on November 21, 2025 had carried an exclusively special report about neglect of Jammu Division on tourism front, both in terms of harnessing new destinations and undertaking extensive promotional campaigns. The report 'Jammu's tourism neglect; a region of potential overshadowed by Kashmir-centric policies' pitched for a rightful place to Jammu region in the tourism narrative of the Union Territory, given its rich culture, art, adventure and above all pilgrim potential, especially Manthal as a peaceful and spiritually rich stopover for visitors besides Mantalai as world class yoga destination.

In today's meeting the review focused on evaluating progress, enhancing infrastructure, and formulating strategies to position Jammu as a vibrant, year-round tourism destination.
