Killer used other people’s ID to buy knives

THE ongoing Southport Inquiry has heard how killer Axel Rudakubana managed to buy bladed items online despite being underage.

Rudakubana murdered Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, at Southport's Hart Space in July 2024.

He also badly injured eight other children, who cannot be named for legal reasons, as well as teacher and party organiser Leanne Lucas and local businessman John Hayes.

The teenage triple murderer made more than a dozen orders for weapons including machetes, knives, bow and arrows and castor beans to make the poison ricin the year before he targeted the ‘Taylor Swift-themed dance party.

The inquiry heard last week how Rudakubana used other people's driving licences to bypass age verification to order deadly weapons the year before his deadly attack.

He would use his own payment card to make the purchases but would often use the shipment name “Al Rud” and the address for his next door neighbour.
