Wales-Boks clash is undermining Test match rugby - White
South Wales Evening Post
|November 28, 2025
LEGENDARY South African coach Jake White has warned World Rugby that the match between Wales and the Springboks risks undermining Test rugby.
Both teams are missing a large contingent of their key players due to the fixture being played outside of the official international Test window.
Wales’ 13 French and English-based players returned to their clubs aiter the defeat to New Zealand, leaving Steve Tandy with a significantly weakened squad for a clash against the world champions.
However, South Africa have also taken a hit, with many of their Japan-based players being recalled to the Far East ahead of the new season.
Such is the depth of the Springboks, Rassie Erasmus has still been able to name a formidable South African outfit, but will be without the likes of World Player Of The Year Malcolm Marx and pocket rocket wing Cheslin Kolbe.
