The unknown figure at the top of Swansea City's power structure and the questions that still linger

NOT for the first time in recent years, it feels like Swansea City's recruitment department is facing something of an overhaul.
Richard Montague's departure came as a surprise while Alan Sheehan, left, says the structure above him is not his major concern
After conducting what the club called an “internal review of our footballing operations”, the decision was made to part company with director of football Richard Montague earlier this month, a move that understandably took many by surprise.
Several members of Montague's scouting team have also been moved on, including head of scouting James Morgan-Snowley, whose move from Rangers six months ago was previously seen as something of a coup.
Quite how the scouting structure will look heading into the January window remains to be seen, but the indications are that much of the responsibility will be largely pinned on one man.
Indeed, given how often his name has come up in the last few weeks, it's curious that so little appears to be known about the club's current head of recruitment.
Adam Worth has actually been with the club since last October, initially joining as the club's global head of analytics before being promoted to head of recruitment in February, which incidentally was round about the time Montague was appointed.
But while credited by some as a key driver in the summer window, aside from a few brief quotes to accompany many of City's summer signings, he's yet to really speak publicly about his role.
Few supporters seem to know what the lifelong Swans fan even looks like, such is the lack of a public footprint and evidenced by a lack of photograph of him in this article, but as his influence at the club seems to grow, so too will the scrutiny from outsiders.
Worth, it's claimed, is now one of the leading voices within the Swansea hierarchy.
