Miss-step on charity walker's coastal path challenge
South Wales Evening Post
|July 21, 2025
A MAN walking the entire Wales coastal path has described the utter agony of his journey.
Kian Di Salvo, 24, from Felinfoel, Llanelli is undertaking the epic journey to raise money for FareShare Cymru.
However, having walked 220 miles already, Kian has started developing health issues.
His journey began at Chester on June 2 and it took 11 days to reach Anglesey.
"That was really tough. After the 11 days I had to come home," he said. "I checked myself into hospital first because of the amount of blisters, and the skin that had come off of my feet."
After letting his feet heal for 10 days, Kian set off again but decided to alternate between walking barefoot and with shoes on depending on the terrain.
"A lot of the coastal path is Tarmac or walking alongside the main road, so through Anglesey I did most of it with shoes," he explained.
"I did a total of 31 miles around Anglesey barefoot and then I started on the Llyn Peninsula, but I had to come home again.
