'Incredibly proud' moment as town leisure complex to open

CARMARTHENSHIRE Council has announced that its Canolfan Pentre Awel development in Llanelli, will open to the public on October 15.
The development is the first of its kind in Wales, bringing together the private, public and third sector all under one roof, designed to improve health and wellbeing, boost the economy and support people at all stages of life.
While the doors of Canolfan Pentre Awel (formerly known as Zone 1) will be open to the public from 4pm on Wednesday, October 15, an official opening event for Canolfan Pentre Awel will be held towards the end of the year, with representation from the Welsh Government, UK Government, stakeholders and the wider community.
Canolfan Pentre Awel has been part-funded by the Swansea Bay City Deal, with a £40 million contribution, and is one of the largest regeneration schemes in south west Wales.
Visitors to Canolfan Pentre Awel will be able to enjoy:
a 25m, eight-lane pool, small pool and hydrotherapy pool;
gym with the very latest smart tech and topspec equipment, featuring panoramic views of Delta Lakes;
dedicated spin studio featuring Keiser bikes;
spacious dance and group fitness spaces;
eight-court sports hall (equivalent to two full-sized netball courts);
modern conference and meeting rooms;
