Griffith at the double in Giants’ cup success

WITH torrential rainfall causing flooding in the area it was no surprise that almost all of the scheduled matches were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Cian Griffith of Giants Grave scored twice in their West Wales FA Intermediate Cup win at Neath Town.

With the West Wales FA Intermediate Cup Round Three stage seeing the majority of matches postponed, one of the few to get the go ahead saw the in form Macron West Wales Premier League side Giants Grave make the short trip across to Llandarcy to take on Neath Premier League Club Neath Town.

A scrappy opening period saw both teams getting forward in an effort to take control. On the half an hour mark, it took a superb goal to separate the sides when the ball fell to Taylor Ravenhill, twenty five yards from goal and he found the top corner of the Neath Town net to give Grave a 1-0 half time lead.
