EVERY day is a school day. The widely-used idiom is something us grandparents accept as fact.

If you thought the learning curve was tough in your teens, then you'd better buckle up for a roll-ercoaster ride when you get to 60-something.
We are (currently) blessed with two wonderful grandchildren - Alys, three-and-a-half, and Nell, six months.
Here are just a few of the life lessons Alys has served up in the past fortnight:
Mind your language.
Children are like sponges when it comes to picking up phrases. She's adopted the verbal tic “well, actually” from someone who shall remain nameless. It’s best not to ask where she absorbed “good God!” and “Jesus Christ!” - the last one may not have been part of a prayer, but might have been a response to someone hitting his thumb with a hammer.
