A MALE police officer who made sexualised comments to a number of colleagues would have been dismissed because of his behaviour had he not already resigned, a misconduct panel concluded.

- ELLIE GOSLEY Reporter

DC Thomas Pook from South Wales Police made repeated lewd comments to a number of women he worked with and on one occasion “played with” a colleague's hair while in the office, the panel heard.

The hearing heard that Pook, who joined the force in 2016 after two years as a PCSO, was accused of a pattern of inappropriate comments and behaviour across 2023 while working in the Merthyr Tydfil criminal investigation department. His actions made colleagues feel “uncomfortable and disgusted’, the panel concluded.

Pook’s behaviour continued despite being warned about his previous conduct and after he was made to undertake “reflective practice”.

The panel heard how Pook responded to one colleague who made a drinking gesture to ask if he would like a cup of tea by saying: “Offering a blowie are you?”
