Husband to face murder trial over wife’s death
South Wales Echo
|November 22, 2025
A MURDER trial is set to take place in June next year after a husband denied murdering his wife on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Newport Crown Court heard that a doctor had failed to accept the grounds following psychiatric reports.
Michael Davies, 57, previously entered a guilty plea to a count of manslaughter after his wife's body was discovered in a house by police, who had been called due to concerns for her welfare.
Davies’ wife Tracey Davies, 48, was found dead in a property in Cefn Cribwr, near Bridgend, on April 18.
Davies was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with her murder.
