Grace: Injury left Racing staff tearful
South Wales Echo
|December 23, 2025
WALES wing Regan Grace has opened up about his injury-hit career in rugby union, revealing that staff at one club were left in tears after he suffered another cruel setback.
After scoring 89 tries in 143 games for St Helens, the 29-year-old converted from league to union in the summer of 2022 as he joined Top 14 side Racing 92.
However, he never played a game in Paris, as a ruptured Achilles ahead of the move saw him spend his time in France on the sidelines, while he suffered a recurrence of the same injury months into his recovery.
Grace was released by Racing the following year and moved to Bath, but played just twice before joining Cardiff on a six-month contract at the start of this year.
He made four appearances for the capital side before departing at the end of the season and, while he was linked with a return to rugby league, he signed a short-term deal with Sale Sharks in November.
