No end to inhumane and obscene conflict

After all these years of commemorations of previous wars and the sacrifices of the fallen, together with celebrations of our ultimate victories, very often we made pledges that, having witnessed such obscene humanitarian horrors and awful deaths and tortures of so many thousands of people, including masses of civilians, women and children in Holocaust concentration camps, that “this was to be the war to end all wars”.

Excellent pious pledges, yes, but even when backed with the wonderful John Lennon anti-war song Give Peace a Chance, they stood no chance of bearing fruit against the enormous capitalist dominating power of MIC (the Military Industrial Complex), an industry cartel ‘killing machine’.
