A camping and activity park in the Mendips has been recognised in England-wide travel awards.
Mendip Basecamp in Somerset has been given a Silver award in the Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year category of the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2025.
Basecamp was originally set up for school activity camps, but since Covid has served families and holidaymakers from its 250-acre site.
It's also got an outdoor activity centre with more than 20 activities including skiing, tobogganing, frisbee golf course, rock climbing, abseiling, caving, archery, snowboarding, air rifle shooting, archery active, a Nerf battle zone and axe throwing.
Basecamp said: "Despite all of the improvements, our rustic charm remains unspoiled. Basecamp will always be a special place for families to disconnect and spend quality time together in the great outdoors."
There's also a water sports centre with canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding a short drive away, and on-site a giant sandpit and indoor toddler play zone.
