Friends and family of a Somerset dad-of-two left stranded abroad after a terrible accident have been 'blown away' by the response to an appeal for help.
Matty Durbin, 36, who coaches Clutton Football Club's under-10s team, fell from a balcony while on holiday in Spain.
The dad-of-two, from Clutton, in the Chew Valley, who is a self employed electrician, fractured his pelvis and back and four places and is stranded as he is unable to travel home, according to close friend Adam Gould.
Adam set up a GoFundMe page for Matty with the hope of raising funds for travel expenses for the family while he is in Spain, repatriation when he is well enough to come home, support for his partner and mobility aids for Matty's recovery.
As of Monday, more than £15,000 of a £16,000 target had been raised.
Adam said: “Many of you will know Matty Durbin as the passionate and dedicated coach of Clutton under-10s, and a familiar face across Clutton FC.
