Mahoota, welcome to the fourth and final instalment of our Still in Touch.
Based on what you told us last week, now we all know about your infamous hand-shake celebration at Orlando Pirates, and that Benni McCarthy was actually signed to replace you.
Ja man, those were good old days, and I'm still proud of my time at Pirates and the fact that I was replaced by a player of international stature. That still ranks as one of my greatest achievements in football. That was very big. After I left Pirates, I joined Golden Arrows. When it's time to move, you just have to move on. In a football career, you will play for teams, have them in your heart, but when you have to join another team, you have to prepare for a new chapter and go and fight another battle. But it’s good that you leave on high having won many trophies because when you do that people will always remember what you did for the club. It's going to stay there. Look, there is no better time to leave any club, but at some point we all have to go.
Tell us about that Golden Arrows team; who were some of the characters behind the scenes...
We had a lot of good players like Collins Mbesuma, Siyabonga Nkosi, Thanduyise Khuboni, Njabulo Manqana, and Philani Shange. Later, Elrio van Heerden joined us. We had a good camaraderie, but you must remember that I was joining from Pirates, a team that had just won many trophies. So, the thinking was not the same. It was a bit different to what I was used to. But we had good players and Arrows was a team that was always going to play in the MTN8.

South Americans are very fragile
Last weekend we saw Orlando Pirates make history by becoming the first Carling Knockout champions to beat the All-Stars team, after both Magesi FC and Stellenbosch FC failed to do so in the previous two seasons. Pirates were forced to play without several of their regulars as they are in camp in preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations. Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou's charges beat coach Manqoba Mngqithi's team 2-0 to be crowned champions, for the second time in a week. Congratulations to Bucs as they close the year on a high note.
