Shakes, welcome back to the third and final instalment of our Still in Touch. Before we can move on to this week's stories, can you just share with our readers what led you to leave SuperSport United and join Orlando Pirates?
Thanks a lot, my brother. I started my career at SuperSport United and that was the only professional team I had played for until the time I left. And to be honest with you, I did not want to leave. When there were six months left before the expiry of my contract, I approached them just to remind them that my contract was coming to an end. I wanted to know what was going to happen moving forward. I still remember very well, it was January 2006, during the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. I asked them and the late Thomas Madigage told me that he was going to speak to the club. And he did ask them and they promised him that it would be renewed. So, time went by. January, February and when March arrived with only three months remaining, I reminded the club. I was told not to worry, I would be offered a new contract.
