We don't respect each other's history
Domestic football has been back in full swing since last week and it has been interesting to see how the AFCON break has affected some teams. The CAF inter-club competitions have also kept our teams active, and I want to wish all our three participants, Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC all the best in their respective matches this weekend.

I won't lie to you
From Reiger Park's dusty pitches to the bright lights of the UEFA Champions League, Shandre Campbell's rise has been as rapid as it has been grounded. Still a teenager, the Club Brugge winger has already rubbed shoulders with Africa's elite at the Africa Cup of Nations, earned promotion to a European first team and carried the hopes of a football-mad nation eager to see its next star emerge. Though he didn't feature on the pitch in Morocco, his inclusion in Bafana Bafana's squad signalled a future in motion. In part one of this interview with Soccer Laduma's Delmain Faver, Campbell opens up about growth, faith and chasing bigger dreams.

I've found a home
Fortune Makaringe has been away from professional football for a little over half a year, but he is finally back with a move to the Motsepe Foundation Championship with ambitious outfit Leicesterford City, who have signed him on a deal until the end of the season. Makaringe, who left Cape Town City after they got relegated from the Betway Premiership last season, made his debut for Leicesterford against The Bees, playing 45 minutes as the club registered a much-needed 2-1 win to start 2026 on a high. Soccer Laduma’s Tshepang Mailwane went to Leicesterford’s training in Pretoria to talk to the former Orlando Pirates midfielder about joining the club and why it took a while before he found a new home.
