BLACK LEOPARDS' CYRIL CHIBWE (PART 4)

Hola Cyril, thanks for joining us for Part Four of In Touch this week. It’s our last one with you, so let’s end it with a bang after sharing some funny moments with your former coach at ZESCO United in Zambia last week. Where do you want to start this time?

Let me carry on sharing a few more stories from my time at ZESCO and with the coach. There was a time when we were in training, and I think I made a mistake. I think it was from a cross and our coach came to me, and he was like, “I went to Germany for a Goalkeeper Coaching course.” We were all confused and thinking, “Is he a goalkeeper coach now?”

Ha, ha, ha. Well, you did say last week that he was someone who claimed to know it all.

Yes. He carried on and he was like, “I know about goalkeeping. I'll come in, don't worry.” My brother, that day we were running non-stop. We ran from one 18-area to the other. Ask me for how long.

For how long?

For 30 minutes. Can you imagine? A whole 30 minutes just running up and down. Non-stop. This was during my early days in Zambia, and I had never run like that as a goalkeeper in my career.

South Americans are very fragile

Last weekend we saw Orlando Pirates make history by becoming the first Carling Knockout champions to beat the All-Stars team, after both Magesi FC and Stellenbosch FC failed to do so in the previous two seasons. Pirates were forced to play without several of their regulars as they are in camp in preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations. Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou's charges beat coach Manqoba Mngqithi's team 2-0 to be crowned champions, for the second time in a week. Congratulations to Bucs as they close the year on a high note.
