More former council homes in South Tyneside were sold last year as the Government considers changes to the Right to Buy scheme rules.
New home building is not keeping pace with right to buy sales in South Tyneside.
New figures from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), show there were 129 Right to Buy sales in the borough in the year to March-up from 112 in the previous year.
Across England, there were 7,287 sales reported by local authorities, an increase of five per cent on 2023-24.
