Luke whistles up £2k donation for mountain rescue

A young charity champion from South Tyneside has whistled up a £2,000 donation to help a mountain rescue team's lifesaving work
Fourteen-year-old Luke Hedley, from Jarrow, handed the cash over to the Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team - raised entirely through the sale of his homemade safety whistles which he made on his 3D printer.
In October Lukea pupil at St Wilfrid's RC College in South Shields - became a one of just 22 youngsters in the country to earn a British Citizen Youth Award Roll of Honour award for his community work.
