Hopkinson sets out a vision to make Newcastle a 'world-class' institution

Newcastle United CEO David Hopkinson.

Hopkinson was appointed as Newcastle's new chief executive officer in September and has been conducting a 100-day review of the club, which is now nearing completion. The CEO will submit a plan to Newcastle's ownership next week.

The Canadian, whose previous venture in football came as Real Madrid's head of global partnerships between 2018 and 2020, believes Newcastle can not only win the Premier League but become one of the top clubs in world football within the next five years.

Four years into the takeover led by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, Newcastle have qualified for the Champions League twice and ended a 70-year domestic trophy drought.
