Driver's fury as police 'paraded' him in street after minor road accident

Colin Campbell alleges two officers made him take an eyesight test outside his Cleadon home more than two months after he and another motorist “clipped wing mirrors” on Saturday, August 2.

The incident happened as he drove his motor home on a narrow road near Rothbury, Northumberland, and with nowhere to safely turn, he drove on, later forking out £100 on repairs.

He was shocked when police came to his home on Friday, October 24, to make inquiries and asked him to step into the street to have his vision checked-with an officer measuring what she said was a 20m distance.

He complied, fearing not to do so could jeopardise his driving licence-but later measured the distance himself and says it was 30m.
