As we step into a new year, many set resolutions to improve our health and wellbeing and it's the perfect time to include our pets, too.

- PAW TIME with PDSA vet nurse Shauna Walsh

Here we share a few simple resolutions the whole family can get behind.

1 Keep them moving

Whether you have a lively dog, a curious cat or an active rabbit, regular exercise is vital. Aim for daily walks for dogs, varied play sessions for cats, and plenty of safe space and enrichment opportunities for small pets like guinea pigs and rabbits to explore. Even a few extra minutes each day can boost fitness and prevent boredom. If your pet hasn't been very active over the festive season, start gently and build up slowly, especially in cold weather.

2 Tidy up their diet
