Penshurst pub in the running to be crowned best in country

A PENSHURST pub is among three in Kent in the running to be crowned the country's best.

Every year, The National Pub and Bar Awards shine a light on establishments at the top of their game in the industry.

From cosy inns to sleek modern bars, more than 250 nominees from across the nation have been selected in recognition of their high-quality service and hard work.

Of those, 94 winners are to be chosen as the best in their respective counties and the results will be announced live at the annual event when it returns to London on June 24.

The Leicester Arms, in Penshurst, is among the three Kent finalists, and is joined by The Flying Horse, in Smarden and The Marquis of Granby, in the village of Alkham, near Dover.
